About Victor Vieira
Born in Perpignan, France to Madeiran parents Victor Vieira has been visiting Hull, East Yorkshire since 2013. Victor’s passion for photography started at a young age, when photos about travel encouraged him to look at his surroundings with a keen creative eye.
Victor received his first film camera at 17 years old during a stay on Reunion Island, a French owned island in the Indian Ocean which is known for its volcanic, rain forested interior, coral reefs and beaches. During this time, he was already experimenting with underwater photography using disposable cameras, which he bought in bulk from the neighbourhood photographer. It was in 1999 that Victor evolved to his first digital camera, which was equipped with different lenses. This is when Victor’s passion for macro photography, landscape photos and studio photos became serious. As a classically trained French chef, Victor uses the same recipe for success in his photography: attention to detail, creativity and the pleasure of creating images to share.
His work as a photographer has been refined over the years, and the support he has received from both the public and his peers, has encouraged him to develop his passion into a profession. He has exhibited regularly in recent years in England and the South of France and his work has been selected for various competitions.
